100% Job Planning Completion – What That Really Means for NHS Productivity

100% Job Planning Completion – What That Really Means for NHS Productivity

Every consultant at a Trust in the northwest of England now has a detailed job plan in the system. That’s not a typo. It’s not 80%. Or ‘most’. Or ‘rehashed from last years’. It’s 100% of full, new, detailed plans.

And it didn’t happen by accident.

This milestone marks a cultural and operational shift – where workforce planning became more than just an annual admin task set by ‘Big Brother’. It became a shared priority. When the process is transparent, the information is accessible, and the data is meaningful, engagement follows. And when every doctor is on the same page, literally and figuratively, you can finally start to plan for service delivery, not just compliance.

It’s a story of clarity driving productivity.

Now, for the first time, leadership has a complete view of capacity across its consultant body. They’re using that data to identify gaps, assess demand, and make informed resourcing decisions – including in Elderly Medicine, where our Capacity and Demand Report is nearing completion.

The implications are big: fewer assumptions, fewer workarounds, and more confidence in what your people can realistically deliver.

That’s why we’re proud of what’s been achieved and why we cannot wait to share it. Because this level of workforce visibility and productivity uplift can be achieved at one Trust, and it can be achieved anywhere.
